Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA)
Isopropyl Alcohol (or rubbing alcohol) is a clear, powerful cleaning agent for 3D printed parts, build plates and in general applications. Can be diluted, but for its maximum potential, we advise use in high concentration.
For Building Boards
IPA is effective in the cleaning of 3D printer build plates, leaving no traces or residues. It can be diluted to 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and 30% distilled water.
For SLA and DLP Prints
IPA removes and dissolves uncured resin from DLP and SLA prints, and can be used to clean finished printed parts. Because of its rapid evaporation, it dries quickly. Therefore the container should not be open longer than necessary.
Precautions and Hazardous Statements
- P210 – Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.
- P233 – Keep container tightly closed.
- P305+P351+P338 – IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.
- H225 – Highly flammable liquid and vapour
- H319 – Causes serious eye irritation
- H336 – May cause drowsiness or dizziness
